Three Easy Ways to Make Your Cell More Office Appropriate ...

Mobile office phonesLand lines are a thing of the past. A whopping 49% of adults between the ages of 25 and 29 only use a cell phone, which means our mobile phones are quickly becoming our de facto means of connection.

If you're one of the 25% of American households who have given up on a land line, you know that using a mobile phone as your primary phone has its own set of challenges. Long conference calls are a pain, and just try the old trick of holding your phone between your shoulder and your ear. After an hour of that trick, your next call will be to your chiropractor of masseuse.

Try these three easy tricks for turning your mobile phone into an office appropriate communication station.

Buy a plug in handset. I can't recommend the Native Union Moshi Moshi Retro POP Handset (3) enough. This handy device plugs into the audio jack of your iPhone or Android, and then you use the handset like you would a regular phone. It even has a button for hanging up.

land line alternativeTry a speakerphone dock. If you have ever worked in an office setting, you've encountered large speakerphone accessories, but did you know that you can get one for your mobile phone? You want to buy something that allows you to adjust the speaker volume as well as the intake volume. That way, you won't have to scream into the dock. The myTouch 3g dock (2) is a great example for many Android phones and the KEE Desk Phone Dock (4) is a solution for iPhone users.

Invest in a comfortable Bluetooth headset. I buy 99% of my tech accessories online, but this is one where you truly need to visit the store and test the product out. If you're going to be connected to your phone at all times or for long periods of time, then you need to ensure that the fit is comfortable, both around your ear and in your ear. A properly fit Bluetooth headset, like this one from Jawbone (1) will also ensure that you don't have volume issues either.
